Economics: Regulatory capital down 21.1% MoM in January

Макроэкономика 25.02.2016 The regulatory capital adequacy ratio (RCAR) fell 2.7ppt in January to 9.6% while absolute regulatory capital declined UAH27.4bn, or 21.1%, MoM. The main reason for such a drop was the methodology of the RCAR calculation that implies a deduction of excessive related party lending. Related party lending to the regulatory capital ratio increased from 31.19% in December to 45.56% in January. Please note that the maximum cap is 25%. The constant growth of this ratio is evidence of the previously ongoing loan portfolio examinations by the regulator to identify the true exposure to related parties.
