Liquidity declines slightly

Обзор облигаций 03.06.2015 Broader banking sector liquidity declined UAH0.40bn to UAH56.76bn yesterday only due to a UAH0.70bn increase in total local currency debt repayments scheduled for the next 30 days to UAH5.06bn. Banks' correspondent accounts with the NBU rose UAH2.28bn to UAH23.35bn while total CDs outstanding fell UAH3.38bn to UAH26.06bn. Investment implications: Liquidity slightly declined due to month-end tax payments. The NBU purchased no new bonds and issued minimal if any loans to support banks. The only support came from CD redemptions, the funds of which flowed into banks' correspondent accounts that caused that indicator to increase significantly. While the MoF could have made additional expenditures at the end of last week to cover most of the outflows, this did not prevent the MoF's treasury account from increasing to its historical high of UAH27.75bn at the end of May.
