Liquidity up slightly

Обзор облигаций 26.10.2015 Total CDs outstanding rose UAH1.05bn to UAH65.98bn last Friday to a new record high. At the same time, banks' corresponding accounts with the NBU declined UAH0.74bn to UAH24.84bn and broader banking sector liquidity was up a mere UAH0.31bn to UAH90.81bn at the end of last week. Investment implications: Banking sector liquidity increased slightly with a minor reallocation of funds from banks' accounts to CDs. The NBU continued to keep interest rates on short-term CDs at the same level as they were prior to the key rate cut at the end of September. This allows the NBU to absorb significant volumes of liquidity and decrease pressure at the FX market.
