Market comment

Обзоры рынка 27.04.2015 It was another mixed day for Ukrainian equities on Friday, April 24. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks slipped 0.9% as grain trader Kernel (KER PW) was down 2.2% (closing the week down 6.3%). The Index’ other biggest component sugar maker Astarta (AST PW) finally showed some movement gaining 0.6% on the day after being flat all week. Illiquid shares of car battery maker WESTA (WES PW) fell 12.5% finishing the week down 23.6%. KSG Argo (KSG PW) was down 4.7% finishing the week at a 6.8% loss. Outside the Index, natural gas E&P Serinus Energy (SEN PW) gained 2.3% ending the week with a 2.0% gain. In London, iron ore miner Ferrexpo (FXPO LN) was up 6.7% having gained 5.1% on the week. Poultry giant MHP (MHPC LI) was flat on the day and the whole week as well. Egg giant Avangardco (AVGR LI) gained 3.5% on the day, yet ended the week down a wopping 25.4%. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks gained 2.8% finishing the week up 5.0%. Alchevsk Iron & Steel (ALMK UK) was up 9.4% ending the week with a 15.3% gain. Also doing well was Kryukiv Railcar (KVBZ UK +5.4%) gaining 13.4% in the last 3 consecutive trading days.
